Hope you’re doing awesome! We just wrapped up an amazing weekend in Orlando with all of the top fitness info marketers in the country and we wanted to share a little piece of our weekend with you!
The chief presenter Bedros Keuilian shared this video at the beginning of the conference to set our minds in a state of appreciation.
Life is amazing and so is the world in which we live. You are amazing and so are the talents and insights you can contribute.
Foam rolling is one of the most effective ways to dismantle old, compensatory movement patterns that cause pain and decrease performance. Foam rolling is one form of myofascial release. Myo stands for muscle, and the fascia is the connective tissue that provides support and protection for the muscles. In a normal (healthy) body the fascia [...]
The Wild Man Workout is all about having fun, building confidence, and being with good people. We created a place to grow, both physically and mentally, and it has been a truly enriching experience. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of it thus far!
In this video I tell you what you need to watch out for in all those “health food bars” out there.
Here’s the short list:
High Fructose Corn Syrup: Diabetes, ADD, Weight Gain, The Mid-Day Crash…the list goes on
Corn Syrup: Avoid this and products with other syrups used as added sweetener to cut down on the refined sugars.
Trans Fats: Anything with hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated in the title WILL CONTAIN SOME TRANS FATS EVEN IF THE LABEL SAYS OTHERWISE.
Soy: Potent anti-nutrient and hormone disruptor.
Protein Isolates: High temperature drying creates cancer causing compounds like nitrates
MSG & Artificial Sweeteners: The former is a neurotoxic flavor enhancer and the second (aspartame, sucralose, saccharin etc.) haven’t been tested and are known to be toxic.
Have you caved in to a piece of chocolate cake after hearing these words “Oh c’mon, just have ONE piece”, or maybe “Live a little why don’t you!”?
Here are a few ways to deal with some of the “fat anchors” in your life…those would be the people that you love who unknowingly sabotage your efforts to lose weight and live healthier.
1. Remember that most people are scared to do what you are doing.
They’re upset that they don’t have the drive to make a commitment to bettering their own lives. Just remember that you were probably there once too, and that you can be a source of inspiration for them.
Avoid being accusatory, show them the light, and if they’re worth their salt they will ask you how they can get some momentum for themselves.
Keeping things moving (you know what I mean) is critical to maintaining healthy weight loss. If things are moving through too fast, you’re getting nutritionally short changed. If things are stagnant and moving too slow, you’re getting a toxic build up in your colon and probably experiencing some bad gas. Your morning visit to the porcelain throne should be pleasant, nay, a joyous event! Here are 4 ways you can keep the pipes clean.
1. Stay hydrated! Make sure you are drinking enough water every day. How much is enough for you? A good estimate is to consume half your body weight in ounces of water a day. So if you weigh 180 pounds, you need approximately 90 ounces of water a day. Half of that can be drunk, and the other half can be consumed in fruits and vegetables.
2. Include raw foods in each meal. No, sushi doesn’t count! Try to get a raw fruit or vegetable in each meal. With breakfast, get some fresh fruit. At lunch, make salad the star of your meal. At dinner, have some raw (and cooked) vegetables with your meal. Raw fruits and vegetables will provide lots of water and fiber, both essential to keeping things running on time on the inside!
3. Add some ground flax seed to your diet. Not only a great source of fiber, but you’ll also be getting a good dose of Omega 3′s! You can put them in oatmeal, sprinkle them on salads, or put them in smoothies.
4. If you’re really having a hard time try this recipe. It’s called “Bombs Away” for a good reason.
Scurvy is a disease resulting from Vitamin C deficiency, and the main source of Vitamin C in this world is plants. Tigers don’t eat salads with their water buffalo, so where do they get their Vitamin C from?
Tigers, and most creatures for that matter, can synthesize their own Vitamin C and do not need to consume it in their diet. Us humans on the other hand do need to consume Vitamin C in our diets, because we no longer manufacture our own Vitamin C. That gene was switched off a long time ago because most of our calories came from plants and thus our diets were rich in Vitamin C.
